Bridget Wu
Postdoc
Dr. Bridget (Jie) Wu joined the Roy Lab as a postdoctoral research associate in May 2025. She earned her PhD in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University, where she studied synaptic plasticity in GABAergic circuits using electrophysiology and optogenetics.
During her postdoctoral work at UT Health Houston, she used Neuropixel recordings and in vivo two-photon imaging to investigate microglial modulation of neuronal function in Alzheimer’s disease models.
In the Roy Lab, Bridget is interested in studying the structure and function of retinal ganglion cell types in primate-like mammals, to better understand the role of different retinal circuits in vision and visually guided behavior.
